Equine Sports Council Announces Over $10,000 in Payouts

Equine Sports Council is excited to share news of its growth in 2022 and announces over $10,000 in sponsorships and grant payouts.

Congratulations to the Illinois American Saddlebred Pleasure Horse Association – they will receive over $1,600 in sponsorship/grant funds generated from 25% of the fees that their show series collected. These funds may be used to sponsor classes, awards or hospitality events at the 2023 IASPHA shows. Every show that joins the network receives a grant equal to 25% of the ESC fees collected.

ESC continues to grow its network and welcomed new shows in 2022, including Wisconsin Futurity, Oshkosh Charity, ASAW Summerfun and Dixie Cup. Its 2023 spring roster is proud to once again include high quality events such as the F.A.S.H. Spring Show and Southern Saddlebred Spring Fling. Shows in the ESC Network may qualify for breed National and World Championships, including the Monarch National Championship, also governed by ESC. Shows that participated in its network in 2022 will receive a total of $8,500 in grant paybacks to support their 2023 events.

Recognizing the importance of strong academy programs, ESC will donate another $2,500 for the adoption and transport fees (up to $1,250 each) of two lesson horses for two growing lesson programs located in underserved or developing areas. These horses will be sourced from equine rescue organizations in the show horse industry. Visit the ESC website to put in a Lesson Horse Application by January 31, 2023. Winners will be announced by February 15.

If you are involved in managing or organizing an open show without any governing body, ESC invites you to take a look at Equine Sports Council. ESC provide protection to both exhibitors and show management through its Rules and Standards, offers a fair third-party hearing process in the event of a dispute, and provides judges with a complimentary $6 million Officials Liability Policy that is good for a full year. Show managers can breathe a sigh of relief knowing they have an organization to back them up in the event of any problems, and participants have the assurance that the show will be well-run.

ESC will be at the UPHA National Conference in Orlando this week. Attendees may drop by the vendor booth and look up Shane Darnell, co-founder, to learn how the ESC program can support their local, grassroot shows and the show horse industry in their area.
