ARHPA offers “learning opportunity like no other” Roadster Clinic on Friday, May 20

If you want to learn more about showing and training competitively in the roadster division, mark your calendar for Friday, May 20, says Melissa Moore, of Sunrise Stables, Versailles, Ky. Moore is one of the clinicians of the American Road Horse & Pony Association’s upcoming roadster clinic.

“We’ll have expert trainers and judges teaching attendees to fit harness properly, correctly place a bike to a horse or pony, use proper show ring procedure, and understand the judge’s perspective when showing a horse or pony under USEF rules,” she said. “It’s a learning opportunity like no other – we’re covering roadsters shown to Bike, Under Saddle and Wagon.”

The clinic – which begins at noon – will be held just before the annual ARHPA Horse Show kicks off that evening, all at the Mercer County Fairgrounds, at Harrodsburg, Ky. Other clinicians include “The Master of Faster” Raymond Shively, James Nichols, Jimmy Robertson, Rick Adams, Kim Crumpler, and Randy Harper. Rain date is Saturday, May 21, again at noon.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own roadster horse or pony to work one-on-one with the clinicians. If preferred, an auditing option is available – attendees may sit in on the instruction and demonstrations, and enjoy lunch, but do not need to bring their own mount.

Reservations are being accepted now. If you plan to bring a horse or pony to the clinic, the participation fee is $150, and includes lunch, a stall for the day and a regular entry into one class at that night’s show. The auditing fee is $50, and includes lunch. Attendees may pay using the PayPal link at Roadster.show, or pay at the clinic.
