Signature to be held two weeks after Summerfun
The Mid-America Signature Show’s July 31-August 2 dates put it two weeks after SummerFun and eight days before the Illinois State Fair show this year.
An old fashion outdoor show, Signature is held at Ledges Sporting Horses in Roscoe, IL, on the Illinois/Wisconsin state line. The outdoor arena is in a lovely setting of flowers and trees, and an indoor arena is available in case of rain. Jennifer Louw, Van Meter, IA, will judge all classes.
New additions to the class list include Open Pleasure Any Breed and Open Training Any Breed divisions plus Limit qualifiers and championships and AOT/OTR classes in both the Show Pleasure and Country Pleasure divisions.
Signature offers full divisions for Saddlebred Show Pleasure and Country Pleasure (including four Western and three Hunter classes) plus Classic Pleasure. There also are Saddlebred Five and Three Gaited, Park, Park Pleasure, Hackney Show Pleasure Driving and Road Pony classes, plus equitation age groups and four finals qualifiers. All 16 Academy classes are on Saturday.
Signature exhibitors choose whether their wins earn A or B season trophy points on the MAHSA, ASAW and IASPHA circuits., while IHPB&E show rating is AA.
Horses Showing for B Points Have Six Classes of Their Own
Six classes are open only to horses declared for B season trophy points. “We want our exhibitors showing B to have the thrill of winning and taking a victory pass,” said Show Manager Joy Meierhans. “Horses declared for A points are not eligible for the B-only classes, but B-declared horses may also show in any other Signature class for which they qualify.” Adult, Junior Exhibitor and Championship B-only classes are in Show Pleasure as well as in Country Pleasure.
A great $70 room rate has been negotiated for Signature exhibitors at the new host hotel, Best Western Legacy Inn and Suites, which is only seven minutes from the show and pet friendly. Its regular pet fee will be waived for horse show exhibitors. For reservations, call 815/389-4211 and mention the horse show to get the $70 rate for 1-4 people.
