Drs. Wes Sutter and John Cummins are pleased to announce the opening of Kentucky Equine Hospital in Simpsonville, Ky. Formerly known as Equine Services and operated by renowned veterinarian Dr. Scott Bennett, Kentucky Equine Hospital seeks to merge practical expertise with superior clinical care by providing state-of-the-art imaging techniques, lameness evaluations and a surgical referral center. Drs. Sutter and Cummins have a combined 58 years of experience caring for some of the nation’s top competition horses across a variety of disciplines.
Dr. Cummins graduated with honors from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1982 and subsequently began his veterinary practice specializing in equine lameness and sports medicine.
Dr. Sutter received his veterinary degree in 2000 from Colorado State University and completed his surgical residency at The Ohio State University in 2004. Dr. Sutter is doubled boarded in Surgery and in Rehabilitative and Sports Medicine.
In addition to its surgery center, Kentucky Equine Hospital will also offer diagnostic procedures including onsite MRI, nuclear scintigraphy, dynamic scope, digital radiography and ultrasound all performed with the latest in imaging equipment. Kentucky Equine Hospital also utilizes cutting edge treatment modalities such as regenerative therapy, surgical laser, shockwave, ultrasound, Magana wave and magnetic pulse.
Longtime Saddlebred owner and enthusiast Dr. Erica Tolar will be providing ophthalmic services at Kentucky Equine Hospital under the auspices of her practice, Bluegrass Veterinary Vision. As the only veterinary ophthalmologist in the Louisville area, Kentucky Equine Hospital is lucky to be partnering with Dr. Tolar to provide their clients with well-rounded care.
Drs. Louis Johnson and Bridget Mason, associates of Dr. Bennett, have agreed to continue providing their services for clients under the banner of Kentucky Equine Hospital.
