The American Road Horse And Pony Association (ARHPA) is enjoying a year of growth in 2022, in roadster participation, membership, and sponsorships for lucrative prize-money classes, and the excitement will continue at the World’s Championship Horse Show. During the World’s Championship Horse Show:

• The annual ARHPA membership meeting will be held August 20, at the Kentucky Expo Center in the South Wing, room numbers B107 - B108. The meeting begins at 10 a.m.; all members are encouraged to attend.
• Kim Crumpler will be honored as the 2022 ARHPA Raymond E. Shively, Sr., Hall of Fame inductee on Thursday evening.
• Other honorees being recognized are Holly Ackerman for the ARHPA Jennifer C. Robertson Sportsmanship Award, and Ella Reagan and Matthew C. Schuckert for each winning a $1,000 scholarship.
• The 25th annual USTA Roadster Classic – to be competed on Thursday evening – has attracted 23 qualified entries vying for $25,000.00 in prize money.

The association held a very successful ARHPA Horse Show on May 20-21 at the Mercer County Fairgrounds, preceded with a well-attended Roadster Horse & Pony Clinic led by expert clinicians. Plans are already underway for the 2023 horse show.

The Mid Ohio Memorial Day Trotting Sale Roadster Challenge was held at the Lexington Junior League Horse Show, paying out $30,000 in prize money. ARHPA congratulated winner Hercules, owned by Brad Connell and trained by Chad Cole at Signature Stables.

In October, the Mid-America Trotting Horse Sale Roadster Challenge will be held at the Mid-America Mane Event Horse Show, paying out $70,000 added prize money.

This year, ARHPA welcomes a new class at the American Royal/UPHA National Championship Horse Show. The Standardbred Roadster 100 – sponsored by The Standardbred Journal – features $100,000 in prize money. Ten nominations were auctioned to participate in this class in 2022. In addition to the $100,000 prize money, $10,000 will be awarded to the winning trainer and $5,000 awarded to the reserve winning trainer.
