The Madison Classic Horse Show was cancelled due to the outbreak of the EHV-1 virus which caused concern for the well-being of the horses. Because of this situation the management of the World’s Championship Horse Show decided that, for any horse that was entered by the show's closing date, park and pleasure classes at Madison would still count as qualifying classes for the Kentucky State Fair World’s Championship Horse Show.
